Seal VS Sea Lion


 DIFFERENCES BETWEEN SEALS AND SEA LIONS:

The main difference between eared seals and true seals is that true seals lack an external ear flap, while eared seals have one. Other differences include: 

Size
The size of both eared seals and true seals can vary by species, but adult male eared seals can grow up to 8.2 ft and weigh up to 770 lbs, while adult female eared seals can grow up to 6.6 ft and weigh up to 440 lbs. True seals can range in size from the ringed seal, which is 1.1 to 1.7 meters long and weighs 45 to 100 kilograms, to the southern elephant seal, which can grow to over 6 meters long and weigh over 4,000 kilograms
Habitat
True seals typically live in the cold ocean waters of the Arctic or off the coasts of Antarctica. Eared seals live in sub polar, temperate, and equatorial waters throughout the Pacific and Southern Oceans, but are absent from the North Atlantic.
Life Style
Eared Seals have a semiaquatic Lifestyle, Feeding and migrating in the sea, but breeding and resting on land.
